3 Things To Keep In Mind After Getting A Breast Augmentation

Often times women spend a lot of time thinking about how their breasts are going to look after a breast augmentation, and they don't necessarily spend much time thinking about some of the other factors related to getting a breast augmentation. While getting a breast augmentation is very fun and exciting, it is also important to keep in mind that your breasts are going to undergo some temporary and permanent changes that you need to be prepared for. This article will discuss 3 things to keep in mind after getting a breast augmentation.

1. Your Breast Tissue Will Be Extra Swollen

When you first see your breasts after surgery, they will likely look larger than you expected. You have no need to worry though, because this is due to your breast tissue being swollen from the surgery. Your plastic surgeon will be able to look over your breasts at this time, and they will be able to let you know just how swollen your breasts are. This swelling will take a couple of weeks to go down, and at this time you will be able to see the true size of your new breasts.

2. You Won't Be Able To Use Your Arms For A Few Days

Because getting breast implants pulls a lot of the muscles in your underarms, this can cause a lot of soreness in this area, and also the surrounding areas, like your arms. This will make it quite difficult for you to use your arms for much of anything, and you should definitely avoid picking things up because this will likely cause you a great deal of pain. The best thing to do while these muscles heal is to ice them, and use them as little as possible. Thankfully, they will only be this sore for a few days, and then you will be able to slowly start using them to perform your everyday tasks.

3. Your Breasts Will Be Much More Firm

One of the permanent changes that you will notice after getting your breast augmentation is that your breasts will be much more firm. This is because the silicone implant is more firm than your natural breast tissue. This may change that way that you sleep, and at first it may be slightly uncomfortable. However, you will quickly get used to having breasts that are more firm, and will likely just need to slightly change the way that you sleep.
